What to plan for a successful visit?

Is this your first visit to the mountain? Here is some relevant information to know in order to make your experience exceptional.

Parking

The mountain bike base camp is at Versant du Lac, meet at P5.

Clothing

It is very important to wear long and resistant clothes, as well as all the adapted protections: closed shoes, glasses, knee and elbow protections. Wearing a helmet is mandatory on the entire trail network.

Safety

Helmets must be worn on all mountain bike trails. There is no official age limit for mountain biking. However, it is important to ensure that children ride a bike that is appropriate for their height.

(Booster seats (e.g. Mac Ride), giraffes, dollies and trailers or any other device that allows two users on one bike are not permitted). A bike must have pedals. (No run bikes allowed.) A bike must have two brakes on the handlebars. (No bikes with coaster brakes allowed.) See code of conduct

Traffic

The use of marked and open trails is essential to avoid the risk of accidents and to prevent the phenomenon of erosion in the mountains. See trail map

Level of difficulty

It is important to use trails with a level of difficulty that matches your experience. If a trail is too difficult to use, it is advisable to get off the bike and finish on foot to avoid taking any risks.

E-Bike

E-bikes have access to the network, except for the Versant de la Côte Ouest lift. The ergonomics and handling of the bike can cause injuries to the attendant and the type of attachment (side) limits the maximum allowable weight.

The only type of electrically assisted bicycle permitted in Bromont, montagne d’expériences and Parc des Sommets (this includes the C1 Trail Belt, Oak, Berthier, Villageoise and Montagne Networks) is Type 1, which has a speed limit of 32km/h and the electric assistance ceases once this speed is reached. The motor must be located on the pedal board, which provides a propulsive assistance proportioned according to the pressure exerted on the pedal board. No handlebar mounted throttles are allowed.

An exemption may be given for the use of electric bicycles for persons with reduced mobility. These people must follow the protocol set up by the Fondation des sports adaptés and Amis des Sentiers.

For emergency

51 numbered terminals are distributed in the mountain to locate you in case of an emergency. To contact the patrollers: 450-534-2200, ext. 2842.

If you are in the mountain outside of regular business hours, please call 911.

It is not recommended to venture out on the mountain alone. If you do, it is preferable to have your cell phone with you.

Weather conditions

In the event of rain or thunderstorm, a trail closure may be announced to limit the effects of erosion accentuated by rainfall.

In case of doubt, before you travel, consult the Conditions page to find out our opening hours and all the details concerning the open trails. Follow our Facebook page for more information.
