These gestures often seem insignificant.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, repeated thousands of times, they weaken our trails, disturb wildlife, and harm the very nature that inspires us.<\/p>\n<p>Employees at Bromont, montagne d\u2019exp\u00e9riences, have completed the<a href=\"https:\/\/leavenotrace.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Leave No Trace Canada<\/a> training, which presents the 7 principles for reducing our environmental footprint in the mountains. The goal is clear: take care of our natural spaces and minimize our impact on biodiversity.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;50366&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;50364&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;right&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_bloc_spacer spacer_hauteur=&#8221;30_&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h5 data-start=\"749\" data-end=\"771\">1. Plan and Prepare<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Know the rules, access rights, restrictions in effect, and the specific features of the site. You can always reach out to our customer service team with any questions.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare for bad weather, natural hazards, and emergencies. Keep a warmer jacket in your backpack, along with essentials like a hat, sunglasses, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Plan your outings during off-peak times.<\/li>\n<li>Split large groups into smaller groups of 4 to 6 people.<\/li>\n<li>Bring an up-to-date map to find your way and stay on track.<br \/>\nDownload our trail map before your departure (<a href=\"\/en\/maps-of-the-mountain\/carte-randonnee-pedestre\/\">right here<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>Repack food into reusable containers to minimize waste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_bloc_spacer spacer_hauteur=&#8221;30_&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h5>2. Travel on durable surfaces<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Stick to existing trails.<\/li>\n<li>Walk single file in the middle of the trail, even if it\u2019s muddy or wet.<\/li>\n<li>Stay on durable surfaces: bare ground, rock, sand, dry grass, thick snow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_bloc_spacer spacer_hauteur=&#8221;30_&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h5>3. Dispose of Waste Properly<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Pack out what you pack in. Sort recyclables and hazardous waste.<\/li>\n<li>Thoroughly check picnic areas after use to collect trash, leftover food, and micro-waste.<\/li>\n<li>Since smoking is prohibited on our trails, please smoke outside the site and dispose of your cigarette butts responsibly.<\/li>\n<li>Plan to use the sanitary facilities before or after your hike, they\u2019re available at several locations near the trails.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_bloc_spacer spacer_hauteur=&#8221;30_&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h5>4. Leave What You Find<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Leave rocks, plants, and other natural objects as you found them.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid building structures, furniture, or digging trenches.<\/li>\n<li>Prevent the spread of invasive species by cleaning mud and debris off shoes, clothing, and equipment before setting out on the trails.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_bloc_spacer spacer_hauteur=&#8221;30_&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h5>5. Minimize Campfire Impact<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>To protect the mountain and its trails, campfires and all other types of open fires are strictly prohibited at Bromont, montagne d\u2019exp\u00e9riences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_bloc_spacer spacer_hauteur=&#8221;30_&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h5>6. Respect Wildlife<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Give animals plenty of space and observe them from a distance. Move away at the first signs of nervousness or changes in behavior.<\/li>\n<li>Do not feed animals, it can harm their health, alter their behavior, and expose them to predators or other dangers.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid disturbing animals during sensitive periods such as breeding, nesting, raising their young, or winter.<\/li>\n<li>Keep your dog under control (on a leash at all times) or leave them safely at home. Always clean up after them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_bloc_spacer spacer_hauteur=&#8221;30_&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h5>7. Be Considerate of Other Visitors<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Be courteous. On narrow trails, yield to hikers climbing uphill.<\/li>\n<li>Step aside to allow priority passage to those using mobility aids.<\/li>\n<li>Take breaks on durable surfaces off the trail.<\/li>\n<li>Let the sounds of nature prevail. Avoid excessive noise.
